celebrating 15 years of moments.

each time i sit with a couple to talk through the story of their relationship – whether we are creating a book to commemorate a twentieth anniversary or a new engagement – every relationship story has similar core elements (how you met, your first kiss, your first big adventure…)

but it’s the small moments, often unexpected, that fill out the story and make it uniquely yours.

this past week i took time off to celebrate 15 years of moments with my sweetie. when we were married fifteen years ago, we were blessed with a perfectly crisp fall day in new england, with a bright blue sky and stunning foliage.

fifteen years later, we headed to las vegas for what we hoped would include long hours lounging in the warm desert sun by the pool. but this time, the weather was less than perfect. instead, we spent two days receiving flash flood warnings on our phones, and were asked to leave the pool deck after the lounge chairs started flying into the pool.

in the midst of all this, we were treated to the most extraordinary rainbow we have ever seen. we just happened to be heading outside. a few minutes earlier or later and we would have missed it. it was one of those moments.

i am blessed to have had fifteen years of moments with a pretty spectacular person. here’s to celebrating those moments!
