INSPIRED: CREATIVE COMMUNITY

ms2One of the unexpected pleasures of being a small business owner here in the San Francisco bay area has been working with an extraordinary community of creative colleagues. In the past few years as 11stories has grown, I have been lucky to collaborate with a wide variety of creatives, including photographers, chefs, wedding planners, artists, writers, and makers. This weekend I was reminded of the richness of these collaborations in my professional life, as I participated in two wonderful events.

First up was the Handcrafted Wedding & Event Fair with Flax Art Center and the fabulous members of Locally Grown Weddings. Locally Grown Weddings is a collective of small businesses offering premiere wedding and event services with a real commitment to being “kind to the environment.” Each of these businesses comes together to support each other, and I was honored to be included in their event.

Next up was the first birthday celebration for Makeshift Society, of which I have been a proud member since its inception. Makeshift is truly a unique place – a co-working space for creative business owners. I have made wonderful personal and professional connections at the clubhouse, I’ve been able to take classes and teach classes, and without fail, I always leave the clubhouse feeling like I have learned something new or been inspired to see my work in a new light. This past weekend, Makeshift celebrated a successful first year in San Francisco, as well as the start of a new clubhouse in Brooklyn.

Here’s to continued creative collaborations!
